Liminal – Stories of the In-Between (week 2)

This pandemic has put us in a liminal space — a time in which we’re in between what was and what will be. Liminal spaces are tough to navigate and full of uncertainty; and yet they are also spaces of potential transformation. This week we continue to see how the biblical story of the Exodus intersects our own, and what it might have to teach us about how we navigate our world today.

Liminal – Stories of the In-Between (week 1)

The Bible is full of stories of people and communities who have had to journey through liminal spaces. Today, are in a liminal space too — caught between the world as we knew it and an unknown future. What do these stories have to teach us? This week we look at Israel, as they journeyed in the wilderness (a consistent metaphor in the Bible for in-between spaces).

If we’re honest, we often work hard to maintain the status quo. And yet, when we look at Jesus of Nazareth, he seems to be disrupting the status quo. Regularly. What might that mean for our lives? We consider Mark 2 and that question together.

Advent: The Light Breaks through the Darkness

“And Mary treasured all of these things in her heart.” Mary was present to the moment for sure. How can we be fully present, even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season?
